Who we are

The Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Malaria (GCNM) is a Civil Society organization alliance founded in 2008. Its membership consists of NGOs, FBOs and CBOs   in communities throughout Ghana. The coalition was set up to oversee the operations of NGOs in the fight against malaria in all the communities in Ghana with emphasis on behavioral change communication to various stakeholders. This came about as result of witnessing the negative impact of the long-standing Malaria endemic on the Ghanaian society especially children under five years and pregnant women. Campaigns on the reality of malaria and behavioral changes are needed to deal with the issue and malaria related NGOs constituted themselves into a coalition to provide these soft skills to support health institutions in the prevention and control of malaria. The coalition is officially registered at the Registrar General’s Department.

GCNM has equally identified human right, gender and social accountability issues as affecting vulnerable populations at the point of health service delivery which conform to a key strategy of the Global Fund. GCNM is therefore, taking a bold step to champion advocacy and community led Monitoring of health services delivery at the communities across the country and will advocate strongly for human right and gender issues in the next 5 years 23-2028.  With the Covid 19 pandemic, GCNM is integrating pandemic preparedness into all its programming and educational programmes to ensure communities are safe and know what to do in pandemics.
