GCNM proposes strengthening community-level malaria case management through improved referrals, diagnosis and treatment support.
Proposed areas of support
- Train Community-Based Agents to support Rapid Diagnostic Testing and first-line ACT treatment in underserved areas, subject to national protocols and programme authorization.
- Prioritize outreach for remote, vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations with limited facility access.
- Strengthen referral pathways and continuity of care.
- Engage pharmacies and chemical sellers to improve reporting and accountability.
The intended programme contribution is earlier diagnosis, reduced progression to severe malaria and stronger continuity between community and facility-based care.
