Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Malaria

IPTp Tracking & Maternal Malaria Prevention

Community identification, follow-up, referral and communication to support ANC attendance and IPTp uptake.

GCNM aims to strengthen maternal malaria prevention through improved IPTp tracking and community-based support systems.

Proposed implementation approach

  • Support identification and follow-up of pregnant women at community level.
  • Promote timely antenatal care attendance and IPTp uptake.
  • Strengthen referrals between communities and health facilities.
  • Reduce ANC dropouts and missed opportunities through community follow-up.
  • Use social and behaviour change communication to support informed maternal health decisions.

The coalition proposes collaboration with maternal health stakeholders and civil society organisations to reinforce integrated ANC service delivery and community support structures.
