Community-Led Monitoring Proposed as an Accountability Platform for Malaria Services
GCNM proposes a digital CLM system that captures barriers affecting ITN use, IPTp uptake, diagnosis, treatment access and service quality.
20 September 2026 · GCNM National SecretariatCommunity-Led Monitoring is one of GCNM’s proposed priorities for strengthening responsiveness in malaria programming. The approach would enable community volunteers and civil society organisations to document service barriers and community experience using structured digital reporting.
Priority issues include ITN utilization, IPTp uptake, diagnosis, treatment access and service quality. Findings would be shared with District Health Management Teams and NMEP to support evidence-based response, action tracking and community feedback.
The proposed model emphasizes a complete feedback loop: listen to communities, verify evidence, engage decision-makers, track action and return feedback to communities.
