GCNM Proposes Broader Integrated Malaria Social and Behavior Change Implementation

The coalition proposes year-round community engagement targeting prevention, care-seeking, ITN use and treatment adherence with culturally appropriate messaging.

20 September 2026 · GCNM National Secretariat

GCNM’s proposed GC8 intervention package includes year-round integrated Social and Behavior Change Communication designed for broader district coverage through member organisations and community structures.

The approach prioritizes pregnant women, caregivers, youth groups, traditional authorities and religious leaders. It is intended to address misconceptions, strengthen timely care-seeking, increase ITN utilization and improve treatment adherence.

Community-designed materials and culturally appropriate messaging are proposed as core mechanisms for improving local ownership and sustainability.
