Strengthening Community Support for IPTp and Maternal Malaria Prevention

GCNM proposes community identification, follow-up and referral approaches to support ANC attendance and IPTp uptake.

20 September 2026 · GCNM National Secretariat

Maternal malaria prevention is included among GCNM’s proposed strategic priorities. The coalition seeks to strengthen community support for pregnant women through identification, follow-up, referral and social and behaviour change communication.

The approach is intended to support timely antenatal care attendance, IPTp uptake, stronger links between communities and health facilities, and fewer missed opportunities for prevention.
